Lava Centre

Situated between five of Iceland's greatest volcanoes, the Lava Centre offers thousands of visitors a year an immersive exploration into the colossal forces of nature that have shaped both Iceland and our planet.
At the heart of this exhibition, designed by Gagarín and Basalt Architects, the Centre's main exhibition reveals the dramatic narrative of geological phenomena that have shaped Iceland's surface. Beyond mere observation, visitors are thrust into a crash-course in Volcanology, where they experience firsthand the immense power behind volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

While working at Gagarín, I had the honor of illustrating the intricate network of volcanic systems lying beneath Iceland's surface, and some with great detail thanks to the help of expert geologists and volcanologists. Additionally, I also documented all the latest and most frequent eruptions in the Reykjanes peninsula since 2021, ensuring visitors receive a comprehensive view of Iceland's dynamic volcanic activity.

Working for this breathtaking museum was a wonderful experience, providing me with a profound opportunity to dig deeper into the realm of volcanic systems and geology.
